Vivian L. SHERWOOD

Vivian L. SHERWOOD, 90, of Hallsport, NY, died Monday, April 24, 2023 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA. 

 

Born July 11, 1932, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Orville and Cora Goodridge Perkins.  On July 28, 1951, in Hallsport, she married Richard M. “Dick” Sherwood, who predeceased her on June 8, 2019.  She was a 1950 graduate of Wellsville High School. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, canning, fishing, hunting, and most of all, spending time with her family.  Vivian made quilts for every member of her family. 

 

Surviving are:  six children, Sharri (Wendell) Weirich of Wellsville, Timothy R. (Darlene) Sherwood of Hallsport, Randy (Sandy) Sherwood of Bradford, PA, Joan (Donald) Pakis of Hallsport, Fran (Deborah) Sherwood of Campbell, and Christine Coats of Hallsport;  13 grandchildren;  22 great-grandchildren;  one great-great-grandchild;  nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Eugene Perkins, Orville Perkins, Merle Perkins, and Rev. Revere Perkins;  a sister, Mary Perry;  and a son-in-law, Guy Coats. 

 

The family will hold a private service at OLNEY-FOUST Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY.  Rev. Stephen B. Richard will officiate.  Burial will be in Hallsport Cemetery. 

 

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
