Vivienne Mary Campbell (nee Leigh)
Vivienne was born in Wokingham, England to parents Ellen and Alexandar Leigh and spent her childhood days with brother Max and sister Margaret. Sophisticated, beautiful and bold from an early age she learned proper English etiquette from her cherished school days with the nuns at a British convent. After meeting her first husband (a volunteer in the RAF) during WWII, at 17 she travelled alone for weeks by ship to live with him in Argentina and eventually start her own family. With three young children, Vivienne later became a single mother and raised her family alone while working as the lead secretary for Swift, a large Argentine food manufacturer. The next chapter of her life started in the 1960s when Joseph Campbell visited Swift for a business trip. They soon married and she moved to the US, settling at Green Ave., Mt. Ephraim where she built a haven for her and Joe filled with love, art, plants, books, music and treasures from all of their many travels around the world. An artist of many forms she was a master potter, sculptor and painter. She and Joe could regularly be found creating at the studio in their basement and Camden County Community College. Vivenne charmed all in her presence with her British accent and engaging conversation and no matter what was happening she was ALWAYS ready for a good cup of tea.
Vivenne leaves behind her family in Argentina - son Adrian and Monica (wife), son Tristan and Susana (wife), Carolina, Diego, Denise, Matias (grandchildren), Isabel, Juan Sebastian, Santiago and Pía (great grandchildren), daughter Dawn and Rubén (husband), Florencia (granddaughter predeceased) and her acquired family in the US, sister-in-law Joan Weber, stepdaughter Nancy and Anthony (husband), stepson Ken and Mary (wife), stepson Greg and Lynda (wife), Kevin, Diena, Jason, Britan, Barry (grandchildren), Andrea, Alexis, Connor, Katie, Erin, Brandon, Jason (great grandchildren).
A visitation will be held at Adams Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Rd., Northfield, NJ on Oct. 3, 4:00-5:00 pm with a service at 5:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vivienne's honor to WRTI (wrti.org) or the
Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
