Vogle "Sonny" Howard

Vogle "Sonny" Howard, 67, of Chadwick, died on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his home. Sonny was born on April 22, 1954 in Sterling, the son of Earl Howard and Veta Breit. He was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Sonny was an avid fisherman, die-hard Chicago Bears fan, a known bargain hunter, and an excellent welder. Survivors include his spouse, Debbie Wright of Chadwick; two sons, Andre Howard of Jacksonville, FL, and Scott (Nikki Scott) Howard of Milledgeville; two daughters, Amber (Jeff) Guinn of Sterling, and Mericah (Jim) Sarber of Chadwick; one brother, John (Beth) Howard of Rock Falls; four sisters, Christine (Todd) Beck of Sterling, Kathy (Jack) Van Horn of Rock Falls, Vicki (John) Surratt of Dixon, and Judy Walters of AZ; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Regan, Saige, Chase, Payton, Taylor, and Caleb; special nephews, Dennis,and Donnie Phillips and Tim Gilley; several other nieces and nephews; special friend, David "Chavo" Chavez; and four special furry family members. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; his second father, Gene Breit; one brother, David Howard; two nephews, Paul Johnson, and Ricky Nielsen; and special friend, John Blevins. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave, Rock Falls. Cremation rites will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
