We went to grade school with Dave and his brother Larry (who passed away several years ago), then at SHS of course. I don't remember ever having missed one of his games. One day at school I told him how much I enjoyed watching him play. He looked down at me, smiled and said I was his favorite football player. I was humbled. The whole family were wonderful people. God bless you all.

My name is Jay Mahoney. I was in the class of 1963 at Salpointe. I was an athletic trainer and taped his ankles many times. Every one like Dave. He was so personable to all. He was as genuine as the sunrise ! He will be missed by all who knew him ! His battles with Ray Kosanke at Tucson High are legendary in high school basketball !

May he RIP !!!!
