Wade Jerry Martwick

With hearts full of memories, we share the passing of Wade Jerry Martwick on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1946, in Minot, North Dakota to Reuben & Lorna Martwick.
Wade grew up in Balfour, North Dakota, where he attended school and graduated from Balfour High School in 1964. Following high school, he enrolled in Hanson Mechanical Trade School in 1965. In 1966, Wade was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam. Upon his return from Vietnam, he met the love of his life, Mary Alice Otto, and they were married on June 26, 1971, in Balfour, North Dakota.
Wade was a member of The Apostolic Church. He exhibited a strong sense of patriotism and had a keen interest in politics. He took pleasure in listening to Gunsmoke and Old Time Radio. Additionally, he was passionate about recycling, going through his junk mail and cherished moments spent with his family and church community.
He is survived by his wife - Mary Martwick; children - Justin Martwick, Charissa & Shannon Smith, Aaron & Maricarl Martwick; siblings - Darwin & Melissa Martwick, Arlen & Sheryl Martwick, Bruce & Joyce Martwick, Jenny Martwick, Kristi & Brian Vollmer; 10 grandchildren (Madison, Ryland, Kielah, Kasandra, Slater, Mariah, Marcus, Jairo, Lhei, JaiLi) & 4 Great-Grandchildren (Cattleya, Xai, Claire and one on the way (Baby M). He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at The Apostolic Church in Garden City with Pastor James Gregory Charles officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Fort Dodge with military honors conducted by The United States Army Honor Guard and Southwest Kansas Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
