As the family mourn the death of Mr. Safi I offer my deepest sympathy. Our Creator has the ability to give comfort to all. Please lean upon Him and do not lean upon your own understanding. May Mr. Safi sleep in peace.

He was my entree into contemporary Arabic music, courtesy of my uncle Emil, many decades ago. I can still recall his voice and the tunes he sang. May he find rest in a place where there is no pain, no, grief, no sighing, but life evelasting.

His home away from home, from 1977 to 2003, in the USA, was my sister Doaoui and brother in law Touma's house, Palmer Township. We loved every minute, hour, day, and month, during those years he and his family spent with us. He considered us his family, and we felt the same way about him, his wife, sons and daughters. We are heartbroken, to say the least....Allah Yerhamek, ya Bou Fadi....there will never be another Wadih el Safi...ever..... He was revered throughout the world...Kings and Queens bowed down to him..he was the most loved singer in the entire Middle East, for generations...His nickname for me was Abou Zoulouf, as he knew how much I love that song....no more, from any stage, will I hear, "Way'noo habib'na Said, ba'dee ghan'eel'oo Abou Zoulof...".... How many lazy, hazy summer days, we used to just sit around, and he would just pick up the oud and start singing? All those great stories and great jokes..he had the most wonderful sense of humor....so kind, compassionate, so generous, in all ways...so down to earth....so sad...

Had the pleasure to meet Mr. Wadih Safi and to hear him sing in concert in Detroit Michigan many years ago. One of the greatest and most respected Lebanese singers! Love and prayers to his family and to all the Lebanese people. A great loss!

This 92 year old famous Lebanese singer came to my village in Syria in 1973 and had a concert at the village spring " Al-Fawwar" I was 7 years old and I remembered that concert all my life for all the events that happened that night. He was down to earth man with a strong voice and had thousands of songs. My second concert for him I attended in Atlantic City, NJ around 1997. May his soul rest in peace, he was a living legend and he will always be missed.
