Wallace Ray Stanley was called home to heaven on January 23, 2026 in Garland, Texas surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 75. Ray was born on September 21, 1950 to Wallace and Lola Stanley in
Malvern, Arkansas and was a beloved brother of Judy, James and Peggy.
Ray was a cherished husband to Sandy, his devoted wife. Ray and Sandy were married on April 3, 1982 and shared 43 years of marriage. They met at church and built a beautiful life on the foundation of Christ, love and partnership, with Ray proposing in Hot Springs AR on a church group trip. He was a proud father of four remarkable children - Kathryn, Keith, Matthew and Daniel - who each embody Ray's spirit of generosity and his enduring legacy of love (and humor).
Professionally, Ray exemplified dedication and integrity as the Vice President of Residential Construction for Reliant Heating and Air Conditioning. Respected by colleagues for his work ethic and fair-minded approach to business, Ray was a mentor and leader to many. He embodied the phrase "you're only as good as your word" and made sure to always keep his.
A man of many interests, he was always eager to learn. Ray loved guitar and music and passed this love for music to his children as well. His fascination with gadgets kept him abreast of the latest technology, and he delighted in discovering how each new device could add value to life.
To remember Ray is to recall a man who was loving, generous, humble, and hilarious. He was a gentle loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Truly gifted, he could light up any room with his humor and infectious laughter. Ray's life was one anchored in faith and guided by the principles that only Christ could teach. He carried the love of Jesus in his heart and lived his life as a testament to that, spreading joy, kindness, and humor in every interaction.
Ray is preceded in death by parents, Lola and Wallace, and sister Judy. Survived by loving wife Sandy; children Kathryn and husband Jeff Howerton, Keith and wife Krissy Stanley, Matthew Stanley and Daniel Stanley; grandchildren Zachary, Rheannea, Kendal, Christian, Kameron, Kaleb; great grandson Phoenix; brother James and wife Darlene Stanley and; sister Peggy and husband Jeff Nelson; and countless other loved ones and friends.
We mourn his loss, but we rejoice in knowing that he is healed and made whole in the arms of the Lord. We carry his memory in our hearts forever, and the knowledge that his legacy of love, laughter and faith will live on and continue to inspire us all.
