Wallace Wadzinski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society - Schofield on Jun. 16, 2025.
Wally grew up in a big family of twelve children. He was a 1954 graduate of Wausau High School. He also had some college courses.
He joined the US Navy in 1954 and served aboard different ships, but fondly remembered the USS Mitchell as the ship's Radioman. He went on to serve in the Naval Reserves for 16 years.
Wally was employed as a telegrapher in Chicago for the railroad. He worked many years at the Wausau Post Office and went on to become the Eland, WI Postmaster from which he retired.
Always one to stay active, he enjoyed various other jobs after retirement. He also went on to graduate from the North Central Technical College (Antigo) in welding.
Wally loved spending time with his family very much, especially the children. He was a story-teller and loved to embellish them (so no one knows for sure)! His hobbies included: gardening, particularly his rhubarb and asparagus beds; fishing, berry-picking, making quilts, brooms and walking canes.
When asked how he was doing he would reply, "Just excellent, no better!"
Wally is survived by his wife Jackie (Dalsky). They were married on July 3, 1982 (a month shy of 43 years); and his children: Catherine Polencek, Lawrence (Betty), Louis, Richard (Clover) Leonard, Benno (Stephanie) Leonard, Veronica (Justin) Leonard, Ambrose and Francis.
Grandchildren: Bethany and Andrew; Richard and Gina; Sylvia and James; Bobby Jo and Maureen; Tiffani, Anthony, Khloe, Evelyn and Brianna.
Great-grandchildren: Emory and Ashton; Ian; James, Piper and Jasper; Kailey and Teagan; Dakota; Zaylie and Sebastian.
Great-great grandchild: Layla
Siblings: Thomas (Carol), Daniel (Judith), Leon, and Steve (Elizabeth).
Preceded in death by: his father (Louis) and his mother (Sylvia).
Siblings: Randall, Victor, David, Jennie Schwede, Michael, Joyce Elbe, and Virginia Prelipp.
Children: William, Walline Jo Sikorski, and Christopher.
Grandchildren: Clint Sikorski.
In lieu of flowers, please have a Mass offered for the repose of his soul.
