One of our fondest memories of visiting Disneyland in the 1960's and 70's was seeing Wally Boag performing at the Golden Horseshoe Revue as'' Pecos Bill.''......So happy to see the great memories alive on YouTube

As a child my family flew us from Mexico to Disneyland three times. During those visits, I believe I saw the show about 10 times. When I was 10 or 11, my family let us all go anywhere in the park, as long as we checked in with them every few hours. While my siblings went on rides, I went to see the show three times in a row. In my college years, I saw the show many more times, both as a park guest and later as an employee. I was fortunate to make friends with Wally, Fulton and Betty. Many times they would invite me up to their dressing rooms to talk, laugh and learn. One New Year's Eve, Betty even let me stay in her dressing room when the park closed; so that I could be in the park when it re-opened (I had just arrived from spending Christmas with my family in Mexico and was not able to get tickets to the evening's festivities). Now I am an adult and an entertainer (comedy-magician). I realized the other day, that my stage persona is an amalgam of all three of their personalities. I have been lucky enough to meet and work with some incredible performers in my lifetime, but none have had as much of an impact on my life and my performing style as Wally, Fulton and Betty. A year before Wally passed away; I was able to locate his phone number. I trembled with anticipation as I waited for Wally to answer the phone. Chatting with him brought back so many fond memories of this wonderful man and his cohorts who created a true entertainment gem which was unparalleled in the history.
Thank you, Wally for all the love and laughter.

Wally, you were a man to be respected. No comic today can match your talent. I may not have met you, but your antics will forever light my life. Go with God, and make him laugh as you did us.

Wally you were ageless. Remember the show from when I was a kid and now my children have enjoyed your antics in the clips on the Disneyland Treasures discs and of course as Jose the parrot. Hard to believe all the things you did. Thank you

To the Boag Family,

I have so many wonderful memories of going to Disneyland. One of the best ones was going to the Golden Horseshoe Revue. It was one of my favorite things to do when we went to the Park. I could watch that show over and over, and never got tired of it. When we would bring visiting relatives, we would always take them to see the show. Wally Boag was such a talented performer! He will be missed by us all.

He was the Chaplin of Disneyland and one of the greatest live stage entertainers of the 20th century.

Wally was a gem, I'll mis him but not his laughter.

I visited Disneyland for the first time back in 1977 or so. It was hot and sunny, and I wandered by the Golden Horseshoe with two friends, and saw that a show was about to start. As I recall, it was a full house but we were told to wait for a moment. Suddenly we were ushered into the theatre and right into the stage-left box seats. It felt a bit embarrassing to be sitting right there on the stage. I felt even more embarrassed when Wally starting popping seeds from his mouth, aiming them directly at us! I still can't explain why it was so hilarious, but it was an afternoon I will never forget. When I tell people about Wally, I always have to explain that it might not sound funny when I explain what Wally did, but we were all (the whole audience as well as myself and my two friends) roaring with laughter! It was magical! I am so glad that I got the chance to meet him and shake his hand when he made an appearance at the Egyptian Theatre a few years ago...Memories like these are treasures.

I remember seeing Wally play Peco Bill at Disneyland one summer when I was young. He had such great stage presence and comic timing. I remember laughing hard when he spit out his "teeth." The gag, one of many, had the audience in stitches. Years later, I had the honor of becoming friends with his daughter, Heather. One day while I was visited her, Wally came by. Despite my knowing he was famous, he was very humble and kind in person to me. Thanks for the memories, Wally. My sincere condolences to your family.

I know Wally is smiling with all his teeth at how many folks care.

Thank you for the laughs and the legacy you left us with. Everyone who watches a live performance at the park has you to thank for setting the bar so high. Thank you Mr Boag and Miss Taylor, what you gave to us is beyond compare.

I never got to see ANY of the Golden Horseshoe shows (too young, ya know). But I do have a recording of some of the performances. Hearing Wally's skits and Betty's singing is definitely the highlights of my audio collection.

Wally, Thank you for the laughter and smiles that continue today. You have made this World a better place.

I miss the Golden Horseshoe Review. My favorite part was the can can dancers. They need to bring back this show in some form or another.

My mother Martha Stewart worked with Betty and Wally at Disneyland. She was Betty's alternate. Mom is alive and well at eighty eight years young. Living with me in Reseda. She sends all her love to Ellen and the children and Betty's sister on the passing of Betty and Wally. Her Golden Horseshoe photos decorate the house and she speaks of those days often and fondly.

I knew Wally from the UU Church in Santa Monica. He could make the whole congregation, all ages, laugh and laugh -- just by making a simple announcement about church business.

Thanks for the laughs, Wally! Thanks for reminding us not to take life too seriously.

Much love to Ellen and the family.

Wally was our favorite attraction at Disneyland as I was growing up. My Dad worked for Pepsi and the GHS would be our first stop in the morning to get our reservations for the left stage balcony seats. I couldn't wait for Wally to appear onstage - I knew he would put all of us in stitches, especially (to my delight) my Dad. As an adult, I was amazed to learn the about his accomplished life before Disneyland. He will certainly be remembered for the gift of laughter he brought the world over.

Much love as always to Laurence and family.

Wally, you are a wonderful, sweet man and you will be missed so much. Thank you for all your encouragement and information you gave me to help me when I first started out building the Horseshoe website. Your never-ending list of delightful stories and jokes always made me laugh. Heaven has gained a valuable asset and it is our loss until we see you again. Say hi to Fulton, Betty and all the Horseshoe gang for us.

I first met Wally when I was working in the stores at Disneyland in the 80s. He'd already retired, but came around every now and again. I thought he just radiated joy and kindness. He seemed to genuinely enjoy everyone he came into contact with. Although I never got the opportunity to see him perform with Fulton and Betty at the Horseshoe, his legacy was certainly alive and well, and it's always been fun to watch his Traveling Salesman and Pecos Bill on video. He embodies the words Disney Legend and he will be missed for a long time to come. Much love to his beloved family.

I am sorry to say that I never got the chance to know Mr. Boag Sr., but earlier this year I saw some clips of him performing in the Golden Horseshoe Corral and on the Muppet Show, and I knew that I was introduced to a legend. a true renisannce man, balloon animal expert, master storyteller, and all around nice comedian to boot. I hoped that I might be able to meet him one day, but now I hope that I might meet him, and thank him, in Heaven some day. Many condolences to Mr. Wally Boag's family and friends, and let us all hope that he is never forgotten. :)

I always used to say that I would someday be the Clown Prince of Disney World at some point in my life and continue the kind of quality entertainment he managed to give to so many people. I never met him, but he inspired me more than anyone I probably could have.
