Walt Helmick

So many memories that go back a long way. Walt and Rita served us all well. We particularly remember Rita driving James to Charleston to serve as Aunt Jane Price Sharp's page in the House, when Walt moved up to the Senate.

Walt was a good friend and He and Rita set in front of Shelia and I in Church. We had many good conversations. We had a standing joke of me being 4 years older and Walt being my teacher in a class at PCHS (night welding course).
When one of my daughters was working on her masters at WVU she had a night class and had to walk several blocks after dark because she could not get a parking permit. I called Senator Helmick and asked if he could help. He said he would try. That same day Cathy got a call to come and pick up her parking permit. What a friend...
My deepest sympathy to Rita and all of the Helmick Families....
