In addition to performing my parents' marriage ceremony and baptizing my brother, he also baptized me. A very special person, an inspiration and a lifelong spiritual guide.

I remember Pastor Barth from my grade school days at Bethlehem. What I remember most was his calm demeanor and willingness to always make time for the children. His kindness was contagious.

Pastor and Mrs Barth and children were very special "family members" to the Swoboda and Hendershott families during the early years at Calvary. I recall many wonderful stories told by my mother Lorraine and grandmother Lillian. Pastor Barth was the most "Godly man I have ever met". Thinking of you Sylvia and Phil--what a wonderful like he lived and the joy of knowing he is celebrating eternal life in Heaven is a very comforting feeling SAM HENDERSHOTT AND THE FISK AND PHIL HENDERSHOTT FAMILIES

Rev Barth was a blessing to our family and ministered to my elderly parents, Ervin and Edna Heller, in their home, bringing them communion and staying for a visit and always was full of the message of Christ's love and mercy for all. He has a special place in my heart and a very special place with his Lord and Saviour. I'm sure he was greeted with a 'Well done, thou good and faithful servant' by His Father in heaven. Peace and love and prayers to his family.

He is remembered with love. He performed my marriage in 1977. I knew him when he was one of the ministers at Bethlehem. His sermon technique was up-to-date (didn't stay behind the pulpit) but still had clear Biblical messages. Thank you, Pastor Barth, for your caring life which you shared with many.

As a young married couple we were searching for a church home. I was raised at Plymouth Congregational and my husband raised in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. We landed at Bethlehem and attended classes led by Pastor Barth. Pastor Barth visited us several times in our apartment....which had at least 20 steps to climb. We joined the Lutheran Church in 1973 because Pastor Barth gave us the encouragement we needed. In later years he mentioned my husband and I in a sermon, citing all those steps to climb. We had to smile. We are still among the faithful at St. John's Lutheran Church due to you Pastor Barth and we thank you. Tom & Sara Reinking, Louisville, KY.

I am grateful to be one of the many touched by brother Walter during his 101 years this side of eternity.
I will always remember attending "The Passion of the Christ" with him!
I pray resurrection consolation and PEACE in our living Savior, Jesus Christ to the Barth family.
Philippians 1:21!

Rev. Barth was a pastor who lived his Christian faith, baptized our twin daughters in 1978, and when at Bethlehem visited with my mother (a member of Zion) in the street while calling on a parishioner across the street.
