Walter L. Berkheimer

Walter L. Berkheimer, 80, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Sunday evening, March 14, 2010 at the Harrisburg Hospital. He was born February 27, 1930 in York, York County, PA, the son of the late Charles & Alice Bates Berkheimer. Walter was a retired Parts Stockman with the New Cumberland Army Depot and a Marine Corp Veteran having served in the Korean War. He attended Country & Town Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg and was a member of the South Mountain VFW Post #6771 and the American Legion Post 26, both of Dillsburg and the NARF. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha E. Miller Berkheimer. His son: Daniel Berkheimer, of Centreville, VA. His daughter: Helen Berkheimer Miller, of Pittsburgh. His grandchildren: Maxwell, Madeline, Alexander and Elizabeth. His brother: Richard Berkheimer, of Ocala, FL. His sister: Shirly Shelton, of Dillsburg. Services will be held Monday, 11:00 am, March 22, 2010 at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA A viewing will be held Monday from 9:30-11:00 am prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
