Walter was my Grand-dad. I remember my dad taking Tyler, Reagan, and I to eat lunch with him. I could not ask for a better grand-dad. I miss him so much. It has been a little over a year since he has passed and I have not gotten over how much I miss him. We had Thanksgiving without him this year and I almost broke down into tears when we had to mention that it was the first time without him. I miss him so much and I know many more people do as well.

Walter is missed everyday. I miss having my best friend to talk to. He was the smartest man I have ever known and also had a beautiful voice. Missed the great times we had together.

40 years worth of memories just don't fit in this tiny box. Walter knew I loved to watch him in court and he allowed me to go with him many times. He would walk in the courtroom and he owned it. Some of things he did was just magical. The other thing that sticks in my mind is how much he loved music. He would come to my house and grab my mother and she would play the piano while he sang for hours on end. Brian, Kevin and Grace, I am so sorry for your loss.

Walter and I graduated from St. Andrew's
High school in 1959.
Both grew up in the Crescent and our families had many connections.
His mother, Corrie, and my father's family came from Hendersonville, SC in Colleton County.
Walter was always bigger than life and a friend you could always count on.
God's Peace to Grace and the entire family.

To Kevin, Brian, Grace and Ed: I was absolutely stunned to learn of Walter's death. We were good friends and all attended Trinity United Methodist Church together, in fact he and I were in the same Sunday School Class taught by Skip Johnson. I have known Walter since high school and will certainly miss him and his sly sense of humor. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Please let memories of happier days bless you and comfort you in the days to come.

Walter and I were young attorneys who tried a number of cases against each other years ago. Walter was a fierce advocate for his clients but an honorable attorney who I respected. He knew the law and was a capable advocate on behalf of his clients. Rest in peace, my friend.

Sorry for your loss. Walter was so smart with keeping up with the new laws and all of the case law. We had a lot of good times together. He would fight a case to the end. Walter did it his way. God Bless the family and May he Rest In Peace.

Brian and Kevin,

My family and I were so sorry to hear the sad news about your dad. We have many wonderful memories of times spent together starting when we lived in Northbridge Terrace. I know he is in a better place and we will see him again.
