He is survived by his wife of 58 years Darlene A. Brandt of Buford GA, his daughters and sons-in law, Lisa and Jeff Taylor of Buford GA, Suzanne and Jeff Cowan of Hoschton GA and his granddaughters Madison Taylor and Emily Cowan.
Walter graduated from Kingston High School in 1965 and immediately enlisted in the Navy to serve his country during the Vietnam War. He earned a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Services Medal and a Ribbon and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
