Walter Laidlaw Chesman II, aka “Chip or “Doc”, age 76, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 in Gulfport.
Walter was born on September 30, 1947 in Jacksonville, FL. He joined the U.S. Navy and also worked in public works at the U.S. Naval Home. Walter enjoyed fishing, football, and watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Edith Chesman; his first wife, Avanell Chesman; and his second wife, Jennifer Chesman.
Survivors include his children, Dawn Myers, Heather Chesman, and Stephanie Chesman; grandchildren, Cheyenne Chesman, Tatianna Myers, Dayton Chesman, Durron Myers, Allen Chesman, and Skylar Chesman-Lewis; sister, Lucie Lee Feldman; and partner, Shelia Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the family of Walter Chesman II.
