Walter Earl Eccles Jr passed away on Saturday, March 28. 2022, at the age of 58. Walter was born in Marrero, La on May 5, 1963, to Walter Earl Eccles Sr and Barbara Boudreaux Eccles.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Annette O Eccles; his children, Brooke Eccles, and Tyler Eccles (Rosie); his mother, Barbara B. Eccles; his siblings, Eric Eccles, Keith Eccles (Lauren), and Norma Parham. Walter is also survived by his first mate, Laura Lee Holman, his co-captains Cody and Hunter McDonald, and the rest of his Camp Little Owl crew. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives including April Cowan (Nick), Jeremiah Nutt, April J Nutt, Kermitt Ortolano Sr (Shantelle), Kris Ortolano, Amanda Fisher (Theo), Chaz Burrows (Tessa), Kyle Eccles, Luke Eccles, Jake Eccles, Baily Gageledet, Mindy McDonald, Callie Fortmayer (Will), Chris Sherill (Courtney), Jon Sherill, Katelyn Stauffer (Cody), Christopher Todd (Rebecca), Nicholas Todd, William Sullivan, and Stephen Sullivan.
Walter is preceded in death by his father, Walter E. Eccles, Sr.
Walter Earl Eccles worked at Cytec/Cornerstone for 31 years. He was a member of the USW Local 13-447 Union and he also volunteered at Lake Heritage Volunteer Fire Department. Walter loved his wife and children deeply. He made Annette's dreams come true when he bought land in Mississippi. He enjoyed working on his property there. Walter loved to spend time at Camp Little Owl. He especially loved fishing with his family and loved ones, while sitting on a five-gallon bucket. He lived to make people smile and he never met a stranger. He spent most of his time with his family and making memories with them.
Relative and friends are invited to attend a visitation, celebrating the of life Walter Earl Eccles at Mothe Funeral Home located at 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey La. on Friday, April 1, 2022, beginning at 2pm.
