Walter C. Evans, Sr., affectionately known as "Chuck", was born in Memphis, TN on November 6, 196 to the late Walter and Dorothy B. Evans. He was preceded in death by his sister Shari Evans Buford of Orland FL. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Daphne Jones and to this union two lovely children were born: Walt and Dominique Evans.
Chuck graduated from Hamilton High School in 1980, Memphis, TN and went on to further his education Tennessee State University. He graduated from TSU in 1984 with a Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He w a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He had a passion for traveling the world and this he accomplish through his employment with Delta Airlines for 23 years as a Flight Attendant.
We bid farewell to a true father, friend, and beacon of light, who departed from this world unexpectedly on September 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Chuck walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone he encountered with an unforgettable grace. While Chuck left us far too soon, the impact he had on our lives, will be felt for years to come.
He leaves to cherish her memory one son, Walter Charles, II [Nya] of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Dominique [Parrish] of Memphis, TN; two brother in-laws, Michael Buford of Charlotte, NC and Richard Jones of Memphis, TN; one sister in-law, Pamela Scott of Memphis, TN; two nieces, Victoria Scott-Miller (Dewayne) of Raleigh, NC, and Jessica Scott of Memphis, TN; one nephew, Justin Buford of Jacksonville, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Services for Mr. Evans will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10:00am in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service starting at 9:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
