Walter E. Gustavson

I knew Walter mostly through family gatherings I attended with my mother June, Walter´s cousin. He was a very caring, kind hearted man who took an interest in those of us who were the "younger generation," which we greatly appreciated. When my cousin Gigi and I visited Mariedamm and Skiren in September 2015, we went into a barn on the property that once belonged to our Gustavson great grandparents. There on the walls in big capital letters was painted, "1959, OSCAR, WALTER, FLOYd" (no capital d in Floyd - I have no idea why). I loved knowing that I had stood, even briefly, in Walter´s footsteps.
