Walter Hawkins Obituary
Walter Hawkins, age 88, of Russellville, departed this life Friday, November 14, 2025, in Russellville.
He was born September 19, 1937, in Pleasantville to Sigman Bachrach and Alma Aline Clinton Hawkins.
He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and worked at Farwell and Shinn Funeral Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Hawkins; five brothers, Charles Hawkins, Wallace Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, Fulton Hawkins and Boyce Hawkins; and two sisters, Sue Hogan and Joyce Johnson.
He is survived by his four sons, Walter Jr., Sid (Allison), Michael (Rebecca), and Clinton (Ronda); a daughter, Jean-Marie (Divina); a sister, Margaret Heard; and a brother, Phillip (Vickie) Hawkins; six grandchildren, Jeffery, Shannon, Jackie, Patrick, Jonathan and Brian; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, with Pastor Roger Pearce officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
