Walter Howe Obituary
October 20, 1947 to October 28, 2022
Walter F. Howe served as Veterinarian Medical Officer for USDA-APHIS for 43 years.
He had a love of all animals and rode horses for many years. He took care of a herd of goats and bred Great Danes under the kennel Desert Stars. He was also a lifelong learner who was most passionate about history especially the Civil War era. For many years, he was an avid photographer and later in life, he enjoyed fixing old cars.
His wife, Dianne Howe, his three daughters Laura Howe, Ashley Howe, and Jessica Howe, and his sister Becky McKean survive him.
Fritz Howe grew up in Crestline, Ohio. His parents were Emerson Howe and Miriam Elsea Howe. He graduated from Crestline High School in 1965. He attended DePauw University, Bowling Green State University and graduated from Ohio State Veterinary School in 1975. He was in the US Army 1966 – 1968. He will be buried at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
Walter F. Howe was an honorable man and will be sorely missed.
