Walter G. Ingerski

"The Big Eye" as he was known by his staff at the fledgling Defense Supply Agency, could have stepped right out of the pages of Sinclair Lewis' "Main Street." His malapropisms and mixed metaphors were legend. Many were complied and printed by a"helpful" staff member under the title "New Horizons in Speech." . I use some of them to this day for emphasis! Formidable in appearance and manner he had the horrendous job of staffing a huge new federal agency--almost overnight!. Though we found much humor in some of his speech patterns we all respected him as an outstanding shepherd and manager of the human resources of DSA. -James Diffin DSA Training Officer 1962-1967

Thank you for all your kindness and wonderful times at 945 N. Quantico Street in Arlington,Virginia. You were very kind and considerate to all the kids when we would come over and tear up your home with Donald and Bill.
