Extending my deepest sympathy to the family of Wally Long. First got to know Wally when we worked bank robbery investigations together starting at least 25 or more years ago. Although we were from different law enforcement agencies, our goal was to catch the bad guy and put him or her behind bars. Through the many years that have passed since we both retired, we had contact periodically with one another. Wally always looked forward to playing golf at the FBI PIttsburgh Sam Hicks/ G-Man Shootout which is held every year. Although we were not good golfers, we shared many old stories and quite a few laughs at Quicksilver each year. Rest in peace my friend as you will be missed not only by your family, but by those who have had the pleasure of knowing you in the law enforcement community. May the many memories of happy times together help each of you through this time of sorrow and sadness. Thanks Wally for your service to our country and the many years of service to the City of Pittsburgh as a police officer. End of Watch April 23, 2019.

Wally was a dedicated cop and a proud Air Force veteran who wore his love of police work and his patriotism on his sleeve. He also had a great sense of humor. My prayers and sympathy to all of his loved ones.
