Walter McKenzie Obituary
Walt Lee was a member of Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church and attended Talladega County Training School. Following school, he pursued a career at Tyson's Food for over 20 years where he retired.
He was a man full of life, laughter, and love. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, four wheeler, working on cars, spending time with family and friends, attending softball and footballs games and was a die hard Alabama fan. "Roll Tide!"
On December 18, 2025, Walt Lee departed his walk of life. He was preceded in death by his father, William McKenzie; mother, Rosie McKenzie; son, Walter Eugene McKenzie II; daughter, Kalekia Truss; grandson, Walter Eugene McKenzie III, brothers: Penny McKenzie, Shug McKenzie, William McKenzie, Dike McKenzie; sisters: Mattie Lee Feaster, Willie Cole, Elizabeth Chatman, and Coreletha Turner. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted wife, Shirley Boyd McKenzie; his beloved children, Tammi (Alexander) McGhee, Shirlenna (Austin) Truss, and Kevin (Jennifer) McKenzie; his sister, Annie Louis McKenzie, and brother, Andrew McKenzie; a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Walt Lee will be remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of others and the love he freely gave. His laughter, kindness, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Over the past 8 months I have had the honor of taking care of Mr. McKenzie. He became someone dear to my heart, as well as his family. We made some good memories that I will always cherish and he will definitely be missed. Praying for his family during this time. Love you all.
