Walter G. Otte, 86, passed away on March 12, 2016. Survived by children, Debi (Larry) Holestine, Alan (Kim) Otte, Robert Otte and Bruce (Diana) Otte; grandchildren, Brian Holestine, Jodee (Michael) DeRose, Kevin Holestine, Ashley Otte and Tyler Otte; great-grandchildren, Sofia and Conner DeRose and Mason Holestine; and brother, Lou. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dee; two sisters; three brothers; and four half sisters. Walt was born to George E. and Golda Doris (Davis) Otte on Dec. 12, 1929, in Fairbury, Neb. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1949, with the WWII Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal Japan. Walt was a pilot and had his own airplane and landing strip in Beulah. He enjoyed playing his guitar and was in a band called Walt and the Night Riders. Walt was a good teacher, he taught his children and grandchildren things people just don't know anymore and he was a voracious reader. At his request there will be no services.
