Walter L. Richards a proud family man, has sadly passed away on April 18, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1938. Walter was known for his love of camping, Atlanta Braves baseball, stamp collecting, and collecting old cars with his sons. One of Walter's proudest accomplishments was marrying the love of his life, with whom he grew up in Hapeville, Georgia. To this day, he still owns his wife's very first car, a 1961 Falcon. Walter is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Danya Simpson Richards; his children and their spouses Lee Richards (Brenda) and Michael Richards (Christi); as well as his grandchildren Tyler Richards (Elizabeth), Carson Richards (Shelley), and Abigail Richards (Michael). He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Richards and Agnes Ray. Services to honor and celebrate Walter's life will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors in Morrow. Visitation will take place on April 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The burial will then occur at Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park at 12:30 PM.
