Walter Sanders, born on February 18, 1949, in a small but vibrant community, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025. As a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Walter worked as a courier for Perry High School, exemplifying a strong work ethic and commitment to serving his community. He graduated from Washington High School, where he fostered friendships that would last a lifetime. His passion for life was evident in everything he did, particularly in the warmth and affection he shared with his family and friends.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Amanda of 45 years, and their children: Walter (Brittany) Sanders, Jr., Isiah (Heather) Sanders, Andre Ingram, Anthony (Dawn) Arnold, and Consuelo Sanders. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to his many grandchildren: Brittain Sanders, Malaea Sanders, Mari Sanders, Nemo Sanders, Kaliyah Sanders, Raelyn Sanders, Isiah Sanders, Jr., Amelia Sanders, Harmony Sanders, Nylah Sanders, Andre Ingram, Avery Ingram, Dr. Michael (Elsie) Arnold, Anthony Arnold, Darius Arnold, Sarinity Arnold, Javia Rager, Quintella Rager-Gordon, Swayy Aceman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and close friends. His family and friends were central to his life; he loved them deeply and cherished every moment spent together.
Walter was preceded in death by his father, Louis Sanders; mother, Sally Dabney; brothers, Louis Peewee Sanders, Edward Sanders, Baby Jr.; and sisters, Ella McCluskey and Emma Peterson. Their memories will forever hold a place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Walter Sanders will be remembered for his kind spirit, dedication to his family, and the joy he brought into the lives of many. His legacy as a loving husband, father, and grandfather will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon, OH. A visitation will take place on December 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM and concluding at 1:30 PM. Walter will be laid to rest at Massillon Cemetery on Erie St, immediately following the services.
