Walter Shuler, Jr., 73, of Elgin, passed away Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at home in Elgin, Texas, accompanied by his loving wife, Donna. He departed this world after battling a lengthy illness, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born on March 4, 1950, Walter was the son of Walter Shuler, Sr. and Mary Washington. Family was the cornerstone of Walter's life. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Donna; children, Carey Monroe, Tracey Cousin, and Theresa Day; grandchildren, Malik Cousin, Brandi Monroe, Nathan Cousin, Olivia Cousin, Blake Monroe, Kira Day, Kylie Day, and Kristopher Day; and siblings, Lula Williams, Sammie Shuler, BJ Ellison, Virginia McClain, and Darrell Shuler. Walter will be remembered as a devoted husband, supportive father, and loving grandfather. His home was always filled with warmth and laughter, creating a haven of love for his family.

In his free time, Walter enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, listening to the Temptations, spending time with his grandkids, and reading books, which brought joy and fulfillment to his life. He was known for his handyman skills and helped those around him.

Walter Shuler, Jr. will be dearly missed but will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Saturday, December 2nd from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Walter's Home-Going Celebration will immediately follow Visitation, beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
