Walter Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Prattville Memorial Chapel & Memory Gardens on Aug. 12, 2024.
Walter Jason Taylor (49) passed peacefully on Friday, August 9, in Montgomery surrounded by family. Jason was born on August 12, 1974, in Birmingham, Alabama to Sandra Sizemore Given and Walter "Butch" Taylor, Jr. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, AL in 1992 and attended Troy University Montgomery. Jason married Helen Morrow on April 1, 2006, in Fairhope, AL. He worked as a network engineer for Sabel Steel in offices across the southeast. Jason had a quick wit that was second to none and enjoyed traveling with family. His love for Jesus was the center of his life from a very young age and was expressed daily in his kind spirit. An avid Alabama football fan, Jason spent fall Saturdays with his closest friends at "The Shed" or in front of every televised game with family. He passed his love of literature and history to his children, a trait he was proud to share. Jason is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Catherine; son, Samuel; mother, Sandra Given; father, Walter Taylor, Jr. (Martha); sister, Christy Lawrence (Rick); brother, Mark Taylor (April); nieces, Madelyn Taylor and Stella Hardy; nephews, Taylor Cobb (Lynne) and Woodrow Taylor; aunts, Darlene Yarborough (Paul) and Charlotte Needham; uncle, Steve Sizemore; and many in-laws, cousins, and friends. Jason is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gladys Sizemore, paternal grandparents Walter and Dorothy Taylor, and father in law, Jerry Morrow. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 14, at Prattville Memorial Gardens with services following at 11:00 am. Pallbearers include Mark Taylor, Burke Hughes, Jay Hughes, Michael Hardy, Mike Hawthorne, Brent Lucas, Rick Lawrence (honorary), and Jason Nickles (honorary).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX or Pilots for Christ in Monroeville, AL.
