Walter Ray Taylor, of Bonifay, Florida, passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 79. Walter was born on July 23, 1945, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to Walter Gordon Taylor and Martha Idell Jones. He married his beloved wife Becky Lee Taylor in Oct of 1971, and they were blessed with a son, Bronson Allen Taylor in 1979. Walter was a proud veteran of the US Army and served for 6 years as an E3 in the 101 airborne unit. He loved and protected his family dearly and took every opportunity to spend time with them

Ray was preceded in death by his mother Martha Idell Jones Brown, his father Walter Gordon Taylor, sister Betty Jean Rice, and brother-in-law Johnny Whitaker and wife Cathy Whitaker. He is survived by his wife Becky Lee Taylor, son Bronson Allen Taylor and wife Amanda. Grandsons Stetson Ashton Taylor and wife Kayln, Dawson Wayne Taylor and wife Caitlin, Jaxson Ray Taylor, and Brixson Lee Taylor. Great grandson Anderson Ray Taylor. Daughter-in-law Adrianna Kay Lawson. Brother Tony Brown and wife Cathy. Brothers-in-law Jr Simpson, Kevin Simpson and wife Paula. Sister-in-law Gretta Simpson and several nieces and nephews.

Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, Walter was a joy to be around. Walter was loved by and loved his family to his last day. With love he will be remembered

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Holmes County a Council on Aging for all the support they gave Walter and his family.

Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements. The family will have a celebration of life service at a later date.
