Walter Leroy Teichmer, 75, of Grinnell, KS passed away at home on September 6, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1950, in Goodland, KS to Ben and Dorothy (DeBeer) Teichmer. Walter grew up in Logan County, KS at the family farm.
Walter was a hard worker and enjoyed carpentry, building things for himself and others. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He spent most of his adult life working in the oil field in various capacities and running his own pumping business. In his leisure time he found pleasure in golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Walter was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Walter is survived by his son Shawn Teichmer and wife Nikie Bugg-Teichmer of Grinnell, KS; step-daughter, Sarah (White) Unruh of Fredonia, KS and her children; step-son Jason White of Burlington, CO and his children; grandson Trayton Teichmer and wife Victoria Teague of Junction City, KS; sisters, Virginia Renner of Wallace, KS and Carol Renner of Granby, MO and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Dorothy (DeBeer) Teichmer, his brother Donald Teichmer and two brothers-in-law, David Renner and Murry Renner.
Walter will forever be missed by his family, extended family, and numerous friends.
Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, Grinnell, KS. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. CT Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Wallace Cemetery, Wallace, KS.
