Walter Charles Turnier Jr, "Tex", 78, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. Tex was born in San Angelo, Texas on August 21, 1946. He grew up as a "military brat" moving often with his Air Force family, even living in Australia for several years. Tex lived on Lake McQueeney in the 1940's while his dad was stationed at Randolph Air Force base. In 1993, his career moved him from Toledo, Ohio back to Texas - he had come full circle bringing his family back to Lake McQueeney.

Tex attended the University of Florida earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a Delta Chi and recently enjoyed spending time with his fraternity brothers on a reunion trip to Florida. While working in Aiken, SC, Tex obtained a MBA from the University of South Carolina. Tex spent the majority of his career with Owens Corning Fiberglass for 31 years. In 1993, his career brought him to Seguin to manage a joint venture with Hexcel and Owens Corning. Tex retired in 2000 and enjoyed a career change as an insurance adjuster traveling to help victims of the southern hurricanes. Tex was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed over 30 years with his fantasy baseball group, San Francisco Giants were his team. Tex's favorite pastime was playing golf with his golfing buddies on the Alamo City Trail golf courses and visiting with his children and grandchildren in Dallas.

Tex is preceded in death by his parents Doris Turnier and Colonel Walter Turnier; his sisters Susan Rehse and Patrica Davis. He is survived by his brother, William Turnier of Palm Coast, Florida and his loving wife of 57 years, Jinny Turnier. His daughters Katie Hoffman and husband Matt Hoffman; Liza Gray and husband Cody Gray. Papa Tex loved his eight grandchildren: Conner McDermott, Claire McDermott, Luke Hoffman, Theo Hoffman, Ellie Gray, Jude Gray, Jonah Gray and Kenley Gray.

A private burial will be held for the immediate family.
