Walter "Skip" Ward III, 56, passed away on July 1, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. Skip was well-loved. He was an exceptional musician, a very talented guitarist, singer, and all-around musician. He was often known and recognized by more people than he remembered.
Skip is survived by his long time life partner, Tammy Davidson; son, Walter "Wally" Winebernner (Jessica Makula); niece, Erica Ward-Beard (Phillip Peters) and their children, Cody, Ayden, and Olivia; step-daughter and son, Amanda Davidson and US Naval CPO Timothy Davidson Jr.; uncle, Richard "Whitey" Ward; and his beloved crazy dog, Felix. Also surviving are his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ward Jr. and Susan (Thebeau) Ward; sister, Wanda Ward, and step-daughter, Andrea Davidson.
He is now singing again in Heaven. We love you Skip. Interment and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made in Skip's memory to the care of his family via Tammy Davidson directly.
