Walter A. Ward

Walter A. Ward, born March 20th, 1934 in Tyre, N.Y passed away October 16th, 2012 in Ocala, Florida. He has lived in Ocala since 1973. He was a dairy farmer for 30 years on the Gravel Road in Seneca Falls, N.Y. In Florida, he worked at Hiers Funeral Home from 1973-76, Marion County School Bus Driver from 1978-84, Hudson Foods, Kash-N-Karry, and Goodings food stores from 1986-90, and Marion County Senior Services from 1990-99. He graduated from Mynderse Academy in 1952 and attended Central Florida Community Collage in 1974. He was a 7th Degree Grange member, a 4-H member and leader, a trustee of Spring Brook Cemetery in Seneca Falls, a member of the Seneca Falls Methodist Church and Waterloo Methodist Church in NY State. In Florida he was the President of the Lake Weir Band Boosters for 3 years. He was a member of the Ocala Sail Club and also the Lake Harris Sail club of Leesburg. He was also a member of the Blue Lounge of Connors Masonic, 3rd degree. He was a member of the Geneva, N.Y. and Auburn, N.Y. chapter of the "S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A" (Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing of America). He was also a singing member of the "Country Gentlemen" quartet in Auburn, N.Y. and the "Once Again" quartet in Ocala, Florida.
