Walter William Weaver, 85, died at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1940 in New York, NY the son of the late David and Elsie (Jacobson) Weaver, Sr. Walter was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was in the national guard as a reserve. He retired as a Sr. underwriter with Safeco in St. Louis, MO. On June 24, 1972 at St. Kevin's Catholic Church in Rosewood Heights, he married Nancy Milazzo and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2020. Surviving are two daughters, Courtney Gillson (Nathan) of East Alton, Whitney Deken (Stewart) of Champlin, MN, one son, Andrew Weaver (Jessica) of Maple Grove, MN, four grandchildren, Annalise Deken, Dominik Gillson, Kaitlyn Gillson and Greyson Weaver, two sister-in-laws, Sharon Milazzo of Bethalto and Anne Weaver of Hartford, CT., and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Weaver, Jr. and two brother in laws, Elbie Milazzo and Larry Milazzo. A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Deacon Jay Wackerly will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
