Wanda Adams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel - Covington on Jan. 14, 2026.
Mrs. Wanda Bailey Adams, a lifelong resident of Newton County, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on June 5, 1941, Wanda was the treasured daughter of Hoyt and Nellie Bailey, both of whom preceded her in death. Her life was marked by unwavering devotion to family, community, and faith.

Wanda was a proud member of Newton County High School's Class of 1959 and continued her education at Middle Georgia College. She embarked on her professional journey at Standard Oil Company and dedicated many years to Hercules in Covington. Her meticulous nature and caring spirit served her well in her roles as a bookkeeper at Livingston Elementary and as an employee at Newton Federal Bank. Throughout her career, Wanda was known for her integrity, kindness, and willingness to help others.

Wanda possessed a love for cooking and found immense joy in caring for those around her. She cherished opportunities to travel, embracing new experiences with her characteristic warmth and openness. As a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church, Wanda's faith was a guiding force in her life, and she remained actively involved in church activities, forging deep and lasting friendships along the way.

Wanda's family was her greatest pride. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Adams; her sisters, Yvonne Bailey Moore and Jordye Bailey Cook; and her son-in-law, Mike Hall. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her children: Jeff Adams, Jennifer Adams Hall, and Keith Adams (Olivia). Wanda was a beloved grandmother to Brittany, Katie, Adam, Bailey, Abbigail, and Maddilyn, and a cherished great-grandmother to Kyler. Her extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of close friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services honoring Mrs. Wanda Bailey Adams will be held at 3 o'clock on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Salem United Methodist Church with Reverend Todd Hilton officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Wanda's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and generosity. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire her family, friends, and the Newton County community for generations to come.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."
