Wanda Ashton

Wanda Ashton 86, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at her home in Calhoun. Wanda Kathleen Fentress was born December 4, 1939 in Fordsville, Kentucky to the late Beckham Hazel and Ida Jane Wright Fentress and was married to Carl Edward Ashton on February 7, 1959.

Wanda was a homemaker, earlier retired from housekeeping at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun, and was a member of the Holiness Faith. She loved watching wrestling and hearing the laughter of her family. Wanda also enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Carl E. Ashton, who died November 30, 2012; six brothers, and four sisters.

Wanda is survived by a daughter, Ida Rickard (Dean) of Calhoun; three sons, Tommy Ashton (Diana) of Owensboro, Carl Ashton (Belinda) of Sacramento, and Lindel Ashton of Calhoun; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Family services will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Wanda's family.
