Wanda Chwierut

1936 - 2025

Passed away while sleeping in her Petaluma residence with loving family members present on November 14, 2025 at 89 years. Devoted wife to Ted Chwierut (RIP, 2013) for 60 years and a much loved mother, nana, sister, and faithful friend to many. Cherished mother of Tim Chwierut, Thaddeus (Carrie) Chwierut, Michael Chwierut, Debbie (Ron) Simonson, Nadine (John, RIP) Terry. Doting grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 8. Dear sister to Fred Wolski, Harry (Annette) Wolski, Elsa Kobylinski, Erika Koecher (RIP), and Lydia Makula (RIP) of Australia and sister-in-law to Betty (Chester, RIP) Chwierut – Chicago, Illinois.
A resident of Petaluma since 1970, Wanda doted on husband and children, became active in VFW, was a devout and active parishioner of St. James, serving in many of their organizations, and a caring friend and active prayer partner. She worked at La Tercera Elementary School, starting as an assistant and ending as cafeteria manager/primary cook. She was an avid fan of all her children's, and grand children's activities, befriending other parents, and often volunteering for supporting roles. She will be fondly remembered for hosting large family holiday celebrations and loving festivities on special occasions.

A Funeral Mass will be held on December 4th at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Building Fund.
