Wanda Daye Obituary

Published by Davidson Funeral Home - Lexington on Aug. 2, 2016.

Mrs. Daye was born on April 2, 1924 and passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016. Mrs. Daye was a resident of Lexington, North Carolina at the time of her passing. She was married to Carl. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Saturday at First Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. Elizabeth Horton and Rev. Mike Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Reformed United Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Saturday in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Reformed United Church of Christ 104 East Center Street Lexington NC 27292 or Hospice of Davidson County 202 Hospice Way Lexington NC 27292 or Special Olympics 2200 Gateway Centre Blvd. Ste. 201 Morrisville NC 27560.

Wanda Daye was a wonderful, caring teacher, mentor, and friend when I taught with her at Franklinville Elementary. She changed many lives in a positive way.

Mrs. Daye was an amazing and talented lady. I had the privilege of teaching with her at Franklinville Elementary for a few years. She was a gifted, thoughtful and inspiring woman. She will remain in my memory as one of the best folks I have ever known.

Wanda was one of my favorite people. I always enjoyed visiting with her when she visited the Belk store and on the rare occasions when we lunched together. What an amazing individual she was, and I am so happy that she is now reunited with her beloved Carl. May God bless her immediate and extended families and her many friends as we mourn the loss of an extraordinary individual and celebrate the gifts she so generously shared with us all.
