Wanda F. (Beaver) Decker passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Williamsport, at the age of 97. Born on November 18, 1927, in Avis to the late Charles and Ethel (Hendricks) Beaver, she lived a long and fulfilling life, enriched by her love for family, friends, and simple pleasures.
Wanda's early years were spent in Jersey Shore, where she grew up surrounded by her loving family. She went on to work at Woolrich, dedicating many years of service before retiring. After retiring from Woolrich, she drove school bus for Susquehanna Transit Co. and worked at Walmart for several years. Wanda volunteered as an usher at Millbrook Playhouse, Community Arts Center and Bryce Jordan Center and also at the Jersey Shore hospital.
Wanda was a member of the Avis United Methodist Church. Her interests were diverse and vibrant; she found joy in camping, gardening, bowling and later in life playing cards and solving puzzles. Wanda had a particular fondness for parades, which she adored and attended with enthusiasm throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her husband Glenn Decker, and her sons Richard Decker, Thomas Decker, Randall Decker, and David Decker. Her siblings Calvin Beaver, Clyde Beaver, James Beaver, and sister Phyllis Lockuff also predeceased her.
Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family. She is survived by her sons Glenn "Mike" Decker and Gary Decker; daughters Deborah (David) Christman and Diane (Thomas) Whiteman, along with nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Her brothers Lehman Beaver, John Beaver, Donald Beaver, and George Beaver also survive her, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
In keeping with Wanda's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA.
