Wanda LaVonne Dillen, 96, of McKean, PA, passed away Wednesday, February 26th, 2025. She was born on January 20, 1929. Wanda had been living with her daughter, Denise Staskiewicz and son-in-law, Norman Staskiewicz for the past 10 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Richard (Dick) Dillen, an infant son, and sons Kirk Richard Dillen and Douglas Sean Dillen.
Wanda and Stanley moved from central PA to the Erie area in 1953 where they began their own large family, ultimately settling in McKean, in 1958. Wanda’s surviving children include, Denise (Norman) Staskiewicz of McKean, Gay (Gary) Zeigler of Waterford, Jack Dillen of North Carolina, Eric (Cindy) Dillen of Edinboro. She also had 8 grandchildren; Gregory Zeigler, Lee Zeigler, Kirk (Katie) Dillen, Evan (Molly) Dillen, Maddie Dillen, and Luke Dillen, Rena (Randy) Lydic and Nicole Fallecker and 7 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was a wonderful mother to her family always remaining incredibly devoted to the care and advocation for her disabled son. She remained proud of being one of 14 children exclaiming how her favorite teacher was her sister Elva who taught her and many others in a one room schoolhouse very close to their family home. Wanda was an avid weather enthusiast recording the high and low temperature each day on her calendar.
As the last remaining member, Wanda was the 13th of 14 children to the late Mary (Blanche) and Norman Stiver. Wanda was preceded in death by her siblings; Harry Stiver, Beatrice Stiver Andrews, Helene Stiver Spackman, Elmer Stiver, Elva Stiver Alexander, Samuel Stiver, Lois Stiver Merry, Walter Stiver, Julia Stiver Zins, John Stiver, Betty Stiver Vydra, Norman Stiver, and Mona Stiver McMonagle.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. A service will follow at 4 pm.
