Wanda Drake

Wanda (Zucker) Drake, 76, of Hartford passed away on March 2, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Wanda was born on June 24, 1949, in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of James Zucker and Edith D'Imperio both of whom precede her in passing. She was also preceded in passing by a sister, Jackie Birkhead and a brother, Jim Zucker.

Wanda is survived by a son, Ted (Candi) Sinclair and a daughter, Misty Drake. She is also survived by a grandson, Jacob (Abilgale) Sinclair; a great-grandson, Stetson Sinclair and a sister, Jane Zucker.

Wanda was a witty and charismatic woman who never left her sense of humor behind. She moved from Imperial Beach, Calif., to Michigan when she was a young girl. She was proud of her two kids and very hardworking, raising them on her own. She worked at Heath Co., running a forklift and then at Dynac working in diecast, making lifelong friends in both places.

She bartended at the American Legion Post 93 where her father, Winsel Jim Warford, was a member and also at Jaco's Saloon in Lawrence, where she enjoyed laughing and cutting up with friends new and old. People knew her everywhere she went.

Wanda enjoyed drawing, painting, jokes and planting. She showed horses, loved music, singing and dancing and always had a giggle to share. She was an animal lover by nature and always had her dog at her side. Later in life, she worked and achieved her goal to earn a GED. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
