Pass Christian, Mississippi - Wanda Lynn (Ladner) Easterling, age 87, a cherished mother and grandmother, gracefully entered eternal peace on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at her home in Pass Christian, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

Wanda was born on November 15, 1935, to the late William Nall Ladner, Sr. and Alma Telhiard Ladner of Pineville. She was a woman of profound grace, strength, and unwavering love. In her lifetime, she made an indelible impact on the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Easterling; her parents; and her brother, William "Bill" Nall Ladner, Jr. Though they have gone before her, their spirits remain forever intertwined in her legacy.

Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by her three daughters, Denise (Billy) Brown, Cindy (Kevin) Groves, and Vicki (Keith) Pierce; her granddaughter, Janel (Jeremy) Carothers; three great-grandchildren, Caroline, Catherine, and Henry Carothers; and Janel's father, Robert "Scooter" Cohen. She delighted in their presence and cherished every moment with them, leaving a lasting imprint on their hearts.

She is also survived by her sister, Caroline Winstead of Pass Christian; her brother, Norman "Jim" (Linda) Ladner of Pineville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and their families. Wanda's love and warmth reached far and wide, connecting her with countless loved ones over the years.

Wanda was a proud alumna of Pass Christian High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen in 1952

and lettered in Tennis. Her school spirit and enthusiasm were unwavering, and she held her high school memories close to her heart. She later dedicated herself to supporting her three daughters, volunteering with passion in the Band Boosters. She tirelessly worked the concession stand at every home game and drove the bus for away games, accompanied by her high school sweetheart and husband, Henry, who faithfully rode along, ensuring the safety and comfort of the young athletes just in case the bus broke down.

After her daughters started their own families, Wanda became a loving grandmother to her granddaughter, Janel. Wanda was a constant presence in Janel's life, providing her unwavering support, guidance, and love.

Wanda also lent her time and heart to her community as the leader of the local Girl Scout Troop and a member of the Pass Christian Garden Club and the First Baptist Church of Pass Christian. Her sense of civic duty and compassion were hallmarks of her character.

In her spare time, Wanda excelled in various hobbies, including cooking, sewing, flower arranging, and cake decorating. Her talents were on full display at countless family gatherings and celebrations, where her creations were the centerpiece of joy and togetherness. Her legacy will live on in the memories of these special moments and the beauty she created with her hands.

Wanda was a remarkable woman who leaves a legacy of love, dedication, and warmth that will be cherished for generations. Her grace and love have touched the lives of many, and her memory will forever reside in our hearts.

As we say our final goodbyes, we celebrate a life well-lived and a love that will never fade. Wanda will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou, Diamondhead, MS.
