Wanda Edwards, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away August 31, 2025 at Daniels Memorial Healthcare Center in Scobey, Montana at the age of 86.
Wanda was born on January 8, 1939, in Opheim, Montana to John “Norton” and Hazel (Draxten) Bergstrom. She was the youngest of three children with older siblings Donald and Doris Borgen.
She graduated from Opheim High School in 1956 and was married to Carl Green in 1958. Together they started their life in Opheim where Carl was stationed at the Air Force radar base. In 1959, their son Carl “Brad” Green was born, in Glasgow, Montana Their daughter Judy Green was born in 1964 while the family was stationed in Riverside, California. They later moved to Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska. It was at this time that Carl and Wanda divorced; she then moved back to Opheim with their children.
In 1971, Wanda remarried to Graydon “Bub” Edwards Jr. of Opheim. Her family now included Brad, Judy, and Bub as well as his four children Ronald, Alan, Randy, and LeRae. Wanda was a dedicated farm wife and mother for many years to follow. She delivered countless hot meals to the family’s seeding and harvest crews in her beloved blue van, as well as taking care of any tasks that were required. Bub and Wanda enjoyed many hours driving around the countryside, bowling, playing cards, and going on trips to visit family. Wanda was an avid sports fan, who followed along closely with her children and grandchildren’s teams. She loved to garden, can, cook, and crochet in any of her free time. Her table was always open for family and friends to share a meal, have a cookie, or just a quick cup of coffee. Faith was a large part of Wanda’s life; she was confirmed in the Lutheran church and regularly attended Sunday services.
After 48 years of loving marriage, Bub passed away, leaving her to enjoy the life they had built. Wanda found comfort in her beloved pets Max and Sandi. She kept traveling, visiting family and friends, while still cooking all the holiday meals to get everyone together. Wanda showed strength and courage throughout her later life. She held true to her faith and found peace in going home to be with the lord.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Norton and Hazel; husband Bub; son Brad; daughter Judy; and siblings Doris and Donald.
