Wanda Lee Greiwe (née: Schemmer) of Defiance, Missouri, passed away on November 2, 2025 at the age of 91. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Greiwe of Defiance, Missouri; two sons, Terry (Linda) Greiwe of Phoenix, AZ, Todd (Dawn) Greiwe of Foristell, MO; two daughters, Marcia (Richard) Vance of Defiance, MO, Connie (Daryl) Kisker of St. Peters, MO; grandchildren, Amy (Cory) Schramm, Tracy (Rich) Kuberski, Stephanie (Mike) Horstmeier, Doug (Jill) Kisker, Matt Kisker (fiancé Christal Huber), Mandy (Brett) Diehl, Alex (Alex) Hollenback, Dillon (Lynnsey) Greiwe, Ryan (Megan) Greiwe, Rhia (Adam) Eiberger; seventeen and one on the way, great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; She is preceded in death by her Father, Herbert Schemmer, mother, Esther Schemmer (née: Greiwe), sister, Marilyn Schemmer.
Wanda was born in Defiance, Missouri, the daughter of Herbert and Esther Schemmer. She grew up in Defiance and graduated from Augusta High School. After graduation, Wanda began her career at the Brown Shoe Factory, where she worked diligently.
It was during these years that Wanda met the love of her life, Robert Greiwe. The two were married on October 16, 1954, and shared more than 71 wonderful years together. They made their first home in St. Charles before returning to Defiance, where they built the home that they continued to cherish throughout their lives.
Wanda was a woman of deep faith. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher and active member of the Ladies Aid and the Ladies Birthday Club. Her strong faith and kind spirit were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Wanda had many interests and talents that brought joy to those around her. She loved gardening, especially tending to her beautiful flowers, baking delicious treats, canning (with her famous pickles being a family favorite), and playing card games, particularly Pinochle. She also loved to dance and even took up square dancing with Robert when they were in their 70s. Wanda and Robert enjoyed traveling together, exploring new places, and most of all, spending time with friends and family. She never met a stranger and was truly a people person who brought warmth and laughter wherever she went.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
