Wanda Lee Hill, a beacon of warmth and love, graced this world with her presence on December 3, 1941, in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois. Her journey came to a peaceful close on October 23, 2025, in the serene town of Palm Harbor, Florida, where she was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Wanda navigated life with a boundless spirit and a smile that could light up any room. Her legacy is one of kindness, resilience, wit, and the enduring power of family. She cherished her role as a matriarch, providing guidance and love in ample measure to all who were blessed to be a part of her life.
Wanda's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and loving relationships. She is survived by her devoted son, Scott Hill, and her caring daughter-in-law, Debbie Hill. Wanda's legacy will live on through the lives of her five grandchildren and one granddaughter-in-law, who will carry forward her teachings and love. Her five great-grandchildren will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandmother's strength and compassion, ensuring that her memory will continue to inspire for generations to come. Wanda's love extended beyond the bounds of her immediate family, touching the lives of numerous other relatives and friends who join in mourning her passing and celebrating her remarkable journey.
Preceding Wanda in death were those dear to her heart, including her beloved husband, Albert J. Hill, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and love. Her son, John A. Hill, left this world too soon, and she now reunites with him in eternal peace. Wanda was the last leaf on the tree of her generation, having been preceded in death by her brothers, Louis, Truman, and Butchie, and her sisters, Bonnie, Mavis, and her sister at heart, Sandy. Together, they await her in a place where there is no pain, only the joy of reunion.
Wanda's story is one of a life well-lived and well-loved. She approached each day with a sense of purpose and joy, her laughter a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who knew her. Her wisdom and warmth were the pillars upon which many leaned, and her absence will leave a void that cannot be filled. Yet, in the quiet moments, her spirit will be felt, continuing to guide and comfort as it always has.
As we bid farewell to Wanda Lee Hill, we do so with gratitude for the time we were given with her. We celebrate a journey marked by the laughter of children, the companionship of friends, and the unwavering strength of family bonds. Her story does not end here, for the love she gave lives on in each of us, a testament to a life beautifully lived.
In honor of Wanda's memory, let us hold our loved ones a little closer, speak kindness more freely, and walk through life with the grace and poise she embodied. Her chapter on earth may have concluded, but her influence will forever ripple through the lives of those she touched. Rest in peace, dear Wanda, until we meet again.
