Wanda Lee Capps Owens Lorenzo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 9 to Oct. 15, 2023.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Wanda Lee Capps Lorenzo Owens on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at the age of 74. Wanda passed in her San Jose home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

For anyone who knows Wanda, you knew she was a fighter and she put up a long battle with cancer for three years. Wanda will be missed dearly and will always be remembered by her will to be present in every special moment.

Wanda was born on May 8th, 1949 alongside her twin sister, Lynda. She attended Santa Clara High School. She was extremely proud of her Santa Clara roots.

Wanda loved spending time with her family, a good gambling trip, her garage sales and Elvis. She had enough strength for all of us and if she were here today, she would tell us all not to cry but to smile for her, like she would have done for you.

Although she is no longer with us laughing and radiating sunshine, we will continue to honor her in our in our everyday life and to live our life with grace and purpose just like she did every single day.

Wanda is survived by her three children Tami (Ron), Tiffany, and Richard (Jamie); seven grandchildren Chad (Mari), Jake (Christina), Hailey (Forrest), Ryder ( Hanah), Hunter (Gabriela), Nick and Ashley; five great grandchildren Alex, Mamie, Harper, Charlee and Evelyn. Three remaining siblings Darryle, Kimmie and twin sister Lynda; and her longtime boyfriend, Jim Spence.

She was a rock of stability and a source of strength for our entire family and to anyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Wanda was the most amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked hard and played harder, but always with a smile on her face. Wanda will be missed but she will be reunited with her mother (Mamie), her father (Bob) and her brother (Wayne).

"How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard..."

Wanda was laid to rest on Oct 2, 2023. Condolences can be sent to Lorenzo Family, 1108 Savannah Dr, San Jose, CA. 95117
