Wanda Kathleen (Leffler) Leedom, passed away peacefully on the18th of October, 2025. Wanda was born in Omega, Pike Co, Ohio on March 5th, 1937. She was the 2nd of 4 children born to Charles Wilbur Leffler and Selma Sarah Ray. Her sisters were Shirley Ann Smith (Roy), and Sandra Lee Pollock (Elmer), Moog (Bernard), and her brother was Charles Roger Leffler (Linda Camacho, Ponce deLeon). Parents and siblings have preceded her in death.
After attending both Chillicothe High and Huntington High Schools in Ross County, Ohio, Wanda married Austin P. (Ace) Leedom in Bainbridge Ohio in 1954. They were married for 70 years before he passed away earlier this year. Their 6 children are Charles Leedom, (Karen) of Sciotoville, Ohio; Deborah Epperson, (John) of Green Cove Springs, Florida; Sara Timmerman, (Andrew) of Lebanon, Ohio; Wallace Leedom, of Portsmouth, Ohio; Austin Leedom II, (Beverly) of Washington DC; and Chilton Leedom, (Marie) of Ceresco Nebraska.
Wanda spent her early years raising her 6 children and taking them to church. She and her family became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1968. She served in various callings and especially loved the time she spent with the young primary children.
After raising her children and selling Tupperware for 25 years, and now in her 60s, Wanda returned to school. She attended Shawnee State University and graduated with an Associates degree. Upon graduation, she landed a position to develop a transportation service for Scioto County. She was instrumental in growing the Access Scioto County Bus Service from 0 to (14) buses during her years there. She retired at the age of 75.
Wanda loved to laugh, and she loved making other people laugh. She liked telling stories about her childhood and about all of her family. She loved her children and was well-loved by them. Wanda was a very patriotic American and always had at least one flag flying from her house. She was especially proud of the years of military service of her children, grandchildren, uncles, nephews, daughters-in-law, and often counted the combined years served by her family.
With the number of direct descendants nearing or topping 70 in their 70 years together, Wanda and her husband Austin have surely done the Lord's bidding of going forth and multiplying the earth,
The family would like to express a special thank you to all of those who loved Wanda and made her life complete. Though people may have left the family, they never left Wanda, they always loved her and kept in touch with her throughout the years. Wanda was the most generous and giving person, often giving her last dollar, even if she needed it, but she was never known to ask anything for herself.
It is with gratitude to God that we let her go to be with her departed loved ones who made her the person that we all loved so dearly.
A private memorial will be held on Saturday, October the 25th. Interment will be on Friday, October 31st, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Grayson, Kentucky. This would be the day of Wanda and Austin's 71st anniversary.
