Wanda Gale Palmer Nash

Wanda Gale Palmer Nash, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

She was born to James Dudley and Hope Rittenhouse Palmer in Norfolk, VA, September 18, 1942 and moved to Scottsville, Virginia after eight years. She graduated from Fluvanna High School in 1961 and Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She worked in several hospitals over the years and retired in 2009 from Lynchburg General Hospital after 37 years.

She was married to Harold for 58 years who preceded her in death in January of 2024. She leaves behind two sons, Greg (Denise) of Orlando, Florida and Kevin (Carrie) of Lynchburg, Virginia; three grandchildren Jim, Jessica (Daniel), Jordan (Brenden) and two great grandsons (Aiden and Nash), a brother-in-law Wiley (Dianne) of Forest, Virginia. She is preceded in death by one brother Jim (Dyke, Virginia) and survived by five siblings, Patricia Roberts, Butch Palmer (Shelby), Duane Palmer, Dorys Willis, Fern Ward, all of Scottsville, Virginia, a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a few very special friends: Brian and Tina Morris, Joanne Stocks, Angela Anderson, and Velvet Sharp.

Gale was a faithful member of Timberlake Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill Road and an hour before the service at the church.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2025 at Timberlake Baptist Church, 21395 Timberlake Road in Lynchburg.
