Wanda Louise Neiss of Trumansburg passed away at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre with her family by her side on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the age of 80.
A wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was a beacon of love and compassion to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on October 19, 1944, in Cortland, New York, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth (Robinson) Kennedy.
For 35 years, she worked as a machinist at Borg Warner. Wanda enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, finding joy in flower gardening and spending time at her home in Florida, where she cultivated many friendships.
Wanda’s commitment to her family was unwavering; she loved her children deeply, and her pride in her role as a grandmother and great grandmother was immeasurable.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold Neiss; three children, Barbara (Jeff) Stotler, Michael (Dawn) Neiss, and Carrie (Tim) Parker; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; one great great grandchild; sisters, Patricia Whitt and Sherry Hornbrook; brothers in law, Charles (Sharon) and Randy (Lisa) Neiss; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on September 4, 2025 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home in Trumansburg, NY. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful life she led.
The family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Wanda’s memory to kindly consider the American Cancer Society.
As we gather to pay tribute to Wanda Louise Neiss, let us remember the light she brought into our lives. Her unwavering love, kindness, and spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Through the memories shared and the love she spread, Wanda’s legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
