Wanda Sue Smith

Wanda Helms Smith, age 70, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The family is hosting a funeral service that will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Glen Rock Baptist Church. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Born in Monroe, NC, she was the daughter of the late Julian Helms and Margaret Massey Helms. She attended Fort Mill High School and owned and operated her own tanning salon called Sun Kissed Tanning. After parting from the business, she was a home maker for many years. Wanda loved going shopping, baking and cooking, decorating for the holidays, hosting family get togethers and most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are her children, Mike Smith of Fort Mill, Patti Smith Evans (Shannon) of Fort Mill, Larry Woodrow "Woody" Smith Jr. of Flat Creek, John Southwood; one sister, Judy Helms Masters (Ron); eight grandchildren, William Jacob Hammond, Mason Lee Evans, Andy Smith, Brooke Smith, Dylan Southwood, Kayla Southwood, Kyle Southwood; four great-grandchildren and two nephews, Chad Masters and Brant Masters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Larry W. Smith Sr. and her daughter Stephanie Southwood. Memorial may be made to: Glen Rock Baptist Church.
